COVID-19 Update (Spring 2021)
In line with the government’s Roadmap out of Lockdown, Cuffley Hall will reopen to the public in stages starting on 12th April 2021. We will be following the guidance issued by ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) on which activities will be permitted at each step of the Roadmap.
The Main Hall is a superb location for those special occasions – ideal for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, concerts, plays and shows.
The adjoining bar and foyer have plenty of space for guests to gather, and the well-equipped kitchen allows you to choose between self-catering or a fully catered event. The Main Hall measures 55ft (16.8m) x 31ft 6in (9.6m) with a ceiling height of 16ft (4.9m). The seating capacity is 180 for shows or concerts, or up to 140 for dinners, wedding receptions, buffets etc., depending on furniture layout.
The stage is 23ft (7m) deep, with an 18ft (5.5m) proscenium, and has all necessary facilities for your choice of entertainment, including theatre lighting and a grand piano. The Public Address system extends to the bar and foyer areas, and includes an induction loop for the benefit of hearing aid users.
This is a more intimate space for smaller family functions. It is also ideal for clubs and society meetings, AGMs etc. The seating capacity is 30-40, depending on furniture layout.
The small hall measures 22ft (6.7m) x 23ft (7m) and can be sub-divided by curtains to provide changing room space.
This hall is also often used as a buffet area for wedding receptions that are being held in the main hall.
Cuffley Hall is fully licensed, and the air-conditioned bar is stocked with an excellent range of wines, beers and spirits.
Bar staff will be provided in accordance with the number of guests in attendance, and we aim to keep our bar prices at a competitive level.
The commercial-style kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, hobs, heating cabinets, etc. It provides all the facilites required by outside caterers, or can be used on a self-catering basis.
Refreshments may be served in the main hall via the serving hatch, and there is also a serving counter adjacent to the bar.
Most caterers will supply crockery and cutlery to suit your event, but a limited range is available at the Hall and can be used for less formal occasions.
The south-facing foyer is bright and welcoming and makes the ideal location for smaller gatherings.
It is regularly used by local groups and charities for fundraising events such as bring-and-buy sales and coffee mornings.
The main entrance is a short level walk from Station Road, and the car park is accessible from the rear of the building via a short flight of steps. A stairlift is available for the benefit of disabled visitors.
Please note that Cuffley Hall does not have any gardens, fields or other external space so we are unable to accommodate open air events. The Maynard Place car park is shared with other village amenities and is not owned by the Hall.
HIRE CHARGES for PRIVATE HIRE
applicable from 1st July 2020
- Rates are per hour with a minimum hire period of two hours
- Residents’ rates apply to residents of the Parish of Northaw & Cuffley
MAIN HALL – Friday evenings and Saturday evenings (from 6pm):
Residents: £25 per hour Non-residents: £30 per hour
MAIN HALL – all other times:
Residents: £15 per hour Non-residents: £18 per hour
Residents: £10 per hour Non-residents: £12 per hour
ALL-DAY RATE for entire premises (Saturday 9am – midnight):
Residents: £300 Non-residents: £360
If bar facilities are required, additional charges will be applied as follows:
For events with up to 30 guests: £12 per hour
31 to 60 guests: £20 per hour
61 to 90 guests: £32 per hour
91 guests or more: £36 per hour
Damage/Excess Cleaning Deposit:
£100 (returnable after the event subject to satisfactory inspection of the premises by the Management Committee)
Setup and Cleardown:
Setup and cleardown time will be charged at the prevailing rate. When making your booking, please allow sufficient time for setting up furniture, etc., before your event starts, and clearing away afterwards.

We welcome enquiries for regular weekly or monthly bookings by local clubs, societies, classes and charities. Charges will be based on the rates listed above. Please contact us for a quotation.
